Paul Berthelot: Is Jarmo Kekalainen on the hot seat?
The Jackets aren't playing up to exceptions but very unlikely Jarmo Kekalainen is on the hot seat.

They however cannot draft defencemen. Every year it’s another big body player who can skate but lacks offense.

Did not read the article but if it's based on opinion, Mirtle is way off concerning Kekkaleinen, he will find work with another team if given his walking papers. Now if it's rumour then i'm really surprised, on paper he has a former Vezina winning goaltender , a calder nominated defensman , a proven 70 pts guy in Panarin (who is carrying this team on his back on some nights) , and perhaps a Seth Jones who could be on the cusp of being elite .
I think Jarmo has done a few mistakes at the beginning of his tenure , such as that whole Gaborik debacle , he hit a home run on the return for Johanson . We can also question how he handed out some ''' questionable contracts'' to Duby, Savy and Foligno, but are they really acting as anchors on the cap ?
Ownership needs to realise it's not as if Jarmo had a generational talent to build around, but the foundation of this team is as solid as it's ever been in years. Looking back , Doug Mclean and Scott Howson presented crap on ice with the promise of Rick Nash carrying this team....
